Vegas Convention Center Accredited Safe

Looking forward to the World of Concrete 2021, which is now scheduled for June 7 to 10, 2021, Brian Yost, Chief Operating Officer of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority issued the following statment on August 24:

I’m very pleased to share that the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) has been awarded the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR facility accreditation by ISSA, The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, the world’s leading trade association for the cleaning industry. The LVCC is the first facility in Nevada and was among the first in a growing group of convention centers, arenas, and public venues in the nation to apply for, and achieve, this prestigious certification.

Considered the gold standard for safe facilities, the GBAC program was designed to control the risks associated with infectious agents, including the virus responsible for COVID-19.

To achieve GBAC STAR accreditation, the LVCVA was required to demonstrate the LVCC’s compliance with the program’s 20 elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.

This accreditation is an essential step as we prepare to welcome meetings and conventions back to the LVCC and bring business back to Las Vegas.
