Introducing Kaitlin Schuler, R&E Associate Editor

My name is Kaitlin Schuler, and I'm thrilled to join the Infrastructure & Construction team as the associate editor for Roofing & Exteriors. My predecessor, Anthony Locicero, helped to build R&E from its inception, and I'm excited to continue along the path to provide you, our audience, with original content and relevant industry news.

A little bit about me: I've been a journalist for nearly a decade, after a decision to join the yearbook staff at the University of Michigan as a part-time writer led to a full-time dedication to that team and my pursuit of a career as an editor. Since then, I've honed my writing and editing skills across various B2B industries, including automotive, nuclear power, medical research and—most importantly for you—remodeling.

I served as special projects editor for Pro Remodeler magazine for just over two years. I spent that time immersed in the industry, getting to know the people, businesses, lingo, projects, challenges and successes while sharing the stories and insights as best I could. I launched the magazine's first podcast, Women at WiRC; crafted content on hot industry topics and trends;  and walked many miles of show floors to find the latest and greatest to share with our readers. 

Because I've worked as a writer in such wildly different industries, I can confidently say that those in the construction sector are truly some of my favorite people to work with. I've found a certain salt of the earth quality in so many in the trades. You care deeply and passionately about your work, and that dedication and excitement come through in every conversation. I'm honored to step into this role and to work to bring your stories and experiences to all our readers. 

My door is always open for questions, comments, concerns, or (my personal favorite) content suggestions. I'm especially interested in developing content connected to some of my personal passions—sustainability, diversity, building science, and narrative storytelling.
