The 2022 International Roofing Expo returned to the Big Easy. More than 10,000 people attended the industry’s premier roofing and exterior event for education, product sourcing, networking—and more.

More than 10,000 people attended the 2022 International Roofing Expo, which took place Feb. 1-3 in New Orleans.

"We're always happy to bring the show here to New Orleans," Group Director Ray Giovine told Roofing & Exteriors in an exclusive interview. "We've been hearing from both exhibitors and visitors that they're having a successful show.

". . . I think, overall, everybody's had a good time at IRE," he added.

The annual Community Service Day returned in person on Jan. 31.

"We had over 50 volunteers come out to show their support," Giovine reported. "They roll up their sleeves and they gave back to the city of New Orleans."

GAF donated 50 new roofs. Sika Sarnifil and IRE donated $15,000 and $10,000, respectively, to the project.

Recently, IRE partnered with Work for Your World to create the IRE Community Map—a new initiative to help the roofing industry harness the power of the IRE community to address the industry’s labor challenges.

"Finding talent is difficult," Giovine said. "This new map offers a visual and interactive way for talent to discover and learn about the roofing industry and job opportunities."

The IRE returns to Dallas in 2023—March 7-9.

"We're very much looking forward to that," Giovine said.
