How Innovations in Flatwork Finishing Equipment Are Aiding in Jobsite Efficiency

Video-How Innovations in Flatwork Finishing Equipment Are Aiding in Jobsite Efficiency

Dennis Lura, president of Lura Enterprises, a manufacturer of roller screeds, chats with Editor Bill Palmer about the challenges that flatwork contractors face in today’s market.

As contractors look to solve labor shortages, flatwork finishing equipment manufacturers are listening to their customers' ideas. Each year manufacturers are introducing new features to their equipment and sharing new techniques that increase productivity and ensure high-quality work.

Recently, Bill Palmer, editor for www.woc360.com, had a chance to catch up with Dennis Lura, president of Lura Enterprises, a manufacturer of roller screeds. In this brief interview, the duo discussed the challenges that flatwork contractors face in today’s market.

Lura’s key takeaway observation is that flatwork contractors need to be open in owning a range of finishing equipment so they can match jobsite challenges. While laser screeds and walk-behind screeds are efficient for many jobs, contractors should consider including finishing tools like roller screeds in their tool box.

Lura points out that roller screeds are especially useful for circular and inclined pours. Click here to learn how roller screeds aided in rebuilding the Oroville Dam Spillway's steep concrete sections.
