A company that started with concrete chipping services now boasts the tagline “one call cleans it all” and is making waves with its rapid growth.

Jackson Bordeaux, the operational sales manager for the Deltona, Florida-based Knox Concrete Consultants LLC, said the firm has been growing quickly. Originally, they covered a service area from Virginia to Florida, but have since expanded to states like Tennessee, Kansas, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri.

“In about five years, Knox Concrete is going to be a name in this industry across the United States. I have every faith in that,” Bordeaux said at a press conference held by the company at World of Concrete 2022 in Las Vegas.

Bordeaux said the company has been in business for over three years and started as a small concrete chipping cleaning service. Before long, the company added silo cleaning to their services and hydro blasting. They’ve since moved into the asphalt industry as well. The company has used conferences, like World of Concrete, to grow their brand and expand their scope of services. Bordeaux said the company just recently completed two jobs in Raleigh, North Carolina, that involved cleaning asphalt silos.

Bordeaux said the silos were cleaned using “water pressure from underneath,” explaining that it "is a technique that is not being used in the United States."

Bordeaux said Knox Concrete Consultants had to build the apparatus for the cleaning operations. He said their technique is less abrasive and not as damaging as other methods.

With their success, the company is also focused on giving back. In November 2021, Knox Concrete sponsored the Curtis Cup, an annual scholarship golf tournament held by the Georgia Ready Mixed Concrete Association (GRMCA). The tournament gives out two scholarships. One is the Concrete Industry Management Major Scholarship, which is given to two students from Georgia who attend the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program at Middle Tennessee State University. The other is a general scholarship awarded to the children of employees in GRMCA member companies that have operated in the state for at least a year.

“Knox Concrete Consultants LLC is and has been the industry leader in the silo, dust collector, bag house, and concrete chipping services for many years,” the GRMCA said in a post about the company last year. “Knox now offers silo whip, industrial vacuum service, plant maintenance, underground pipe jetting, and hydro blasting.”

Bordeaux estimated that concrete chipping sevices compiles between 30 and 40 percent of the total operations of Knox Concrete Consultants, and he expects the company to stay focused on concrete chipping services in the future.

“That’s where we started,” Bordeaux said. “We don’t ever want to turn our back on something that got you to where you’re at as far as a company. So we’re going to continue to do that as part of our cleaning services.”

Today, Bordeaux said the company has embraced four or five other traditions.

Regarding the company’s owners, Keith and Shea Knox, Bordeaux said the Knox’s know what they’re building. “When you continue to grow as fast as we do, year in and year out, there’s nothing that’s going to stop it,” he said.
