One of the best parts of World of Concrete is seeing products, machines, and installation techniques in action. And the 2022 show is no exception. Here’s a look at some of the demos that aren’t to be missed this year:

Stucco Live!

Stucco Live! returns for its fourth year, taking place during show hours, Jan. 18-20, in the Central Hall. Just like it sounds, Stucco Live! revolves around the application of cement plaster, and this year the focus is on fully tested and compliant fire-rated assemblies. Watch live demos from the pros, learn about new codes and compliant stucco systems, view mock-ups of more 20 common details, see new products, and get expert answers to your questions.

Decorative Concrete LIVE!

Also in its fourth year, Decorative Concrete Live! is an interactive experience where you can watch live demonstrations of innovative techniques incorporating decorative elements into concrete for residential and commercial applications. Learn new solutions, see the latest installation best practices in action, and view new products. This year’s theme focuses on how decorative techniques and applications are important resources to use in crafting attractive elements while reducing a project’s carbon footprint. Decorative Concrete Live! is being held during show hours in the Silver Lot.

Live 3D Printing

Drop by the Riviera Lot to see live 3D printing demos using the BOD2, a 3D printer for concrete and mortar solutions. Watch it print parts of buildings using mortar and learn more about the possibilities of 3D printing. The printer will be on display during show hours with live prints taking place on Tuesday, Jan. 18, from noon – 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 3 – 5 p.m., and Thursday, Jan. 20, from noon – 2 p.m.

Masonry Madness Day

No trip to World of Concrete is complete without watching highly skilled masonry apprentices, mason tenders, block layers, and bricklayers in head-to-head competition! On Wednesday, Jan. 19, head to the Silver Lot for the MCAA’s Skills Challenge (8 a.m.); the SPECMIX Toughest Tender (10 a.m.); MCAA’s Fastest Trowel on the Block (10:20 a.m.); and the SPECMIX BRICKLAYER 500 World Championship (11 a.m.).

Robotics Live!

In the North Hall, see how autonomous robotic equipment, 3D printing, and other cutting-edge solutions are helping to boost efficiencies and improve safety on construction sites.
