The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has added a new position to its leadership team: Director of Innovative Concrete Technology, which will be responsible for attracting emerging technologies for development within the institute via outreach to trade organizations, companies, and individuals.
Rex C. Donahey, Ph.D., will assume the new role. Donahey is currently the editor of ACI’s monthly magazine, Concrete International. Donahey's previous industry jobs include a faculty member, a structural engineer, and director of R&D for a supplier.
“The future well-being of the Institute depends on accommodating innovation and not being limited to existing technology and practices,” said ACI Executive Vice President Ronald G. Burg. “ACI needs to be recognized as the professional organization of choice for developing new and emerging technologies. Adding a director of innovative concrete technology to ACI staff is essential to this effort and will keep ACI Always Advancing.”
