National Pool Partners Becomes Largest Pool Service Company in Arizona

National Pool Partners (NPP), the nation’s premier multi-regional pool service company, today announced that it has acquired X-Pools of Scottsdale, Arizona and Tropical Waters Pools of Gilbert, Arizona, firmly establishing it as the largest residential pool service company in the state. Both X-Pools and Tropical Water Pools will integrate into NPP’s established Aquaman Pools brand, bolstering its expertise and capacity in the greater Phoenix region while establishing a beachhead in the East Valley. With these acquisitions, NPP surpasses 5,500 pool stops in Arizona and continues its rapid and strategic growth across the nation’s largest residential pool markets.

“We’ve built a lot of momentum throughout the entire state of Arizona over the last year and these acquisitions significantly expand our capacity to take on additional customers while ensuring our high standards for service quality are met,” said Chad Nikkel, founding partner and regional president at NPP. “We’re grateful for the trust Ian has shown in NPP and excited to be bringing on Michael to even further elevate the customer experience across our region.”

Founded by Ian Hanley in 2005, Tropical Water Pools has become the top choice of pool owners across the East Valley for comprehensive pool care. With over 1,600 pool service stops on its books, Tropical Water Pools is known for having a technician-focused culture that elevates value while quickly establishing trust with customers. As an entrepreneur with multiple businesses, Hanley chose to sell Tropical Water Pools to NPP because of its ability to support the company culture while providing upward career mobility for staff.

“I’m proud to have built such a strong culture within Tropical Water Pools and am confident NPP will continue to foster that while taking the business to the next level,” said Hanley. “This exit was a great opportunity because I could ensure the team I built will be taken care of and provided opportunities to grow while I’m able to focus on my other endeavors.”

Michael Dennis founded X-Pools in the late ‘90s and has served as vice president of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals’ central Arizona chapter. X-Pools specialized in complicated custom pools with high-tech systems requiring advanced training and high touchpoint service. Seeing the opportunities consolidation within the pool service industry presents, Dennis chose to sell to NPP so that he could focus on the aspects of service operations he enjoys while continuing to advance the industry. Dennis will join NPP as its customer acquisition manager in Arizona, focusing on maintaining and enhancing Aquaman’s new-customer onboarding and service processes.

“I really connect with NPP’s mission to elevate the pool industry because it’s what I’ve been working towards my entire career,” says Dennis. “This industry has given me so much and I’m excited to be able to focus on what I’m most passionate about in my new role with NPP.”

While rapidly acquiring and integrating companies within its portfolio of brands, NPP is establishing its reputation among the top places to work for skilled pool technicians around the country.
