Pool & Hot Tub Alliance seeks nominations for Dr. R. Neil Lowry Grant

This $5,000 grant honors a public health official or department that has made outstanding contributions to advancing the public’s health and safe use of recreational water in pools, spas and waterparks through educational, safety, operational and technical programs. To be considered for the grant, the public health official or department must describe a planned or proposed program, the service provided and how it benefits public health and safety, the impact of the expected results and how the grant funds will be used. The grant is given in memory of Dr. R. Neil Lowry, a long-time member of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA). Submissions are due by Aug. 12, 2022.

Let’s Pool Together partners with Save Our Water on conservation

Let’s Pool Together—an initiative from the California Pool and Spa Association and the PHTA—and Save Our Water—a California statewide water conservation campaign created by the California Department of Water Resources—have partnered to promote water smart tips for California residents. January, February and March 2022 marked the driest first three months of the year on record in California. The organizations are encouraging the state's residents to make simple, water-saving changes amidst the severe drought.

Cover Care expands builder support team

Cover Care, an automatic pool cover company specializing in installation and maintenance, has expanded its builder support team. Cover Care has welcomed 12 builder-dedicated team members to assist builders with all their automatic pool cover needs. The builder support representatives each receive extensive training in the application, manufacturing and construction of automatic pool covers. The training allows them to answer questions, help design, place orders and troubleshoot potential pool cover issues over the phone. The expansion of this department is a part of the company’s commitment to ongoing improvement in customer service to pool builders in the industry.
