Technology combines DD250-CA diamond core drill with a Cut Assist Auto Feed unit to increase productivity, safety, and operator comfort.

Hilti North America has launched a semi-autonomous core-drilling solution, combining the manufacturer's DD250-CA diamond core drill with its Cut Assist Auto Feed unit to provide an assisted experience that intuitively guides the drill to improve productivity.

Integrated technology in the DD 250-CA smart tool guides the operator through proper setup and provides real-time drilling feedback and productivity data. The diamond core drill can be used for a range of applications, including drilling blind holes for setting anchors or post-installed rebar.

To assist in the drilling process, the DD AF-CA H auto-feed unit includes automatic surface detection, drilling depth tracking, water management, and hole-starting and through-hole detection. This Cut Assist technoloy increases operator safety and comfort while lessening fatigue.

“We’ve made core drilling significantly easier by turning a three person job in to a one person job,” said Matt Jackson, senior director of electric tools & accessories at Hilti. “The concrete core rigs, WMS 100 BLE water management system, and auto-feed units automatically work together to provide a complete system solution.”
