The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) has launched a completely upgraded and restyled website at www.acpa.org.

“The website design is significantly improved with rich quality content, which includes a mix of videos, professional photos, document libraries, and interactive elements,” said Andy Gieraltowski, Vice President of Operations/IT. “The search and navigation systems are vastly improved to connect users quickly to the content they need.”

“Our goal with the new website was to increase the opportunity to share information proactively with the broad spectrum of our customers and other site visitors,” said Scott Mueller, Vice President of Marketing. He added that ACPA’s expansive reach includes lawmakers and government administration personnel; federal, state, and local transportation agencies; ACPA members and prospective members; affiliated chapters; academia; staff; and others with an interest in concrete pavements for highways, airports, streets, and industrial facilities.

The site redevelopment was driven by our customers’ needs to get information faster, Mueller said, adding, “The new ACPA site has built in features to enhance and expedite searches so visitors can get the information they need when they need it.”

“The upgraded website was developed to provide information for a wide range of users,” Mueller says. “For example, we recognize that with our public sector customers, we’re reaching policy makers, administrators, engineers and other technical personnel. As such, the type of information and level of detail are different among all site visitors, so we’ve tailored our approach to provide a broader range of information to meet the needs. This is important because regardless of the site visitors’ role in the transportation construction community, we know that the ultimate goal is the same: It’s ultimately all about building and maintaining high quality, sustainable, durable pavements that provide the best return on investment.”

Accessibility and Speed

“The site was also upgraded to ensure compatibility with desktop or laptop computers, as well mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones,” Gieraltowski said, adding, “This is in keeping with the pace of digital technology, which has changed dramatically in recent years and continues to change frequently.”

Gieraltowski and Mueller said website visitors will also see:

  • Well-organized, easy-to-find content. The site is divided into seven tabbed areas: Why Concrete; Solutions/Markets; Expert Help; Events/Training; Advocacy; Member Value; and About Us. ‘Mousing over’ or highlighting reveals “Mega Menus,” which provide a snapshot of content organized under each tabbed area.

  • Informational videos on the concept of Road Network Health, concrete overlays, membership, association activities, and other topics.

  • Technical videos that cover concrete pavement joint design & layout; pavement design using PavementDesigner.org; LCCA principles for design and project selection; concrete pavement sawing & sealing basics, and more.

  • Project profiles, case studies, and positions and perspectives.

  • An online directory of members at https://www.acpa.org/members/#!directory/map.

The new website continues a long tradition of ACPA’s commitment to using digital technology to provide support association members, customers, and others in the transportation-construction community.
